My Left Hook is British comedy feature film in pre production. The script is complete and most of the cast and crew are in place and ready to rock. We are looking to raise £15,000 to cover the costs of making the film. If you like the trailer and the information on the rest of the site, why not become part of the project and make a donation. You'll be rewarded for your contribution, but better still you will be part of an online community, following the journey through production and up until completion. We will be producing loads of online content over the next year for you to enjoy and our regular email updates will keep you in the loop of everything that's going on. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and check out the Facebook pages for each individual character as they talk to each other and reveal the back story of the film (starting in January). You can interact too, and even influence the content of the finished film. It's not often that you as an audience have the power to determine which films get made and which don't, so please get involved and help us make this film happen!

My Left Hook is a painful and embarrasing comedy in the vein of Alan Partridge and The Office. My Left Hook marries this British type of comedy with a story structure more akin to American comedy features such as Dodgeball, Talladega Nights and Anchorman. Add Rocky into the mix and you’ve got one crazy ass  feature film!

Michael Dobson was the youngest ever British Commonwealth boxing champion in history. His meteroic rise to glory was legendary and made him an overnight celebrity. Wishing to remain a champion forever, he quit boxing the very next day. A fighter without an opponent, Michael instead turned on himself. He destroyed everything around him and disgraced himself in public.

8 years later, Michael is overweight, washed up and cloaked in failure. Wishing to turn it all around, he takes one last shot at the big time. Too worn out to be a fighter, Michael lives the dream through a young protege, Lee ‘left hook’ Jarvis. Seducing him through a string of lies, Michael becomes his trainer, manager and promoter. Michael has a fight on his hands just to keep his promise and deliver the goods. When you’ve lost faith in yourself, what will you do to find it in others?

My Left Hook is a typical underdog film, laced with British humour and supported by an excellent cast of characters. It takes inspiration from many of the famous boxing films (particularly Rocky), with the central idea being that the biggest fights are won and lost outside of the ring. My Left Hook can be enjoyed as a comedy, a sports film, a spoof,  a character piece or a drama, but most of all, as a good ride.
